The EXSAS software will, on request, be distributed at no-cost to non-profit research institutes. A redistribution of the software to other institutes or a use outside EXSAS is not permitted without explicit permission by the German Scientific Data Center. The distribution tape will contain the complete source code plus the procedure files for compiling and linking, embedded in a hierachical directory structure. Compressed and split tar files are available also via ftp access to the ROSAT service area, both for UNIX and VMS systems (see appendix H). In addition test data (which must not be used for scientific purposes because partly still valid data rights exist) and calibration data are delivered with the software.
The (successful) use of the system should be properly acknowledged in papers and publications.
